We are a team of cardiovascular specialists committed to providing you the most state of the art care in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
Our staff has many years experience and training in cardiac and vascular diseases. We are also dedicated to helping you with prevention of developing these diseases or preventing them from progression.
Cardiac Center of Texas was established in 2003 by Dr. M. Akram Khan. All of your visits and testing are done directly in the office. Lab work is performed in our building at either Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp. We are pleased to have you in our practice and will dedicate ourselves to providing you with the best of care in a calm and comforting atmosphere. M. Akram Khan, MD, FACC, FSCAI
|
Dr. Khan has been practicing cardiovascular medicine in McKinney, Texas since 1997. He completed his cardiology fellowship as well as interventional cardiology fellowship at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is board certified in cardiovascular medicine as well as interventional cardiology.

M. Zaim Nawaz, MD

Dr. Nawaz has received most of his training in Texas. He graduated from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center after completing his Internal Medicine residency training. His sub-specialty training in invasive cardiology was from Texas A&M University. Dr. Nawaz has also completed advance fellowship training in the field of Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology from one of the premiere cardiac transplant institutions in the Midwest, the University of Wisconsin. He will be one of the few UNOS certified cardiac transplant physician in North Texas. |

Pam comes to us with over 15 years of healthcare experience in the areas of anesthesia, orthopedics, ophthalmology, family practice and cardiology. Pam earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix -Dallas. She joined our team in November 2007 and her passion is patient care. She works closely with our physicians and staff to ensure our patients are pleased with their visit to our office. She is always available to our patients and would welcome a chance to talk with each of you. |

| Peggy Sue Carroll, RVS, RCS |

Peggy Sue is a Registered Cardiac and Vascular Ultrasound Specialist. She has been with Cardiac Center of Texas since 2002. Peggy Sue does Carotid Ultrasounds, Venous and Arterial Ultrasounds, ABI’s, Echocardiograms, and Stress Tests. She graduated from Sanford Brown Institute in Dallas, Texas. |

Jabeen Shariff – Assistant to Dr. Khan |

Jabeen is from Pakistan where she practiced as a medical doctor. She has been with Cardiac Center of Texas since 2000. She assists Dr. Khan directly with your care and is very dedicated to meeting the needs of all our patients. Jabeen is also responsible for scheduling all hospital procedures. |

Irfan is from Pakistan where he practiced as a medical doctor and he is working towards obtaining his final credentials as a physician here in Texas . Irfan assists Dr. Nawaz directly with your care and is very dedicated to meeting the needs of all our patients. |

| Amber Qureshi – Front Office Coordinator/Billing Specialist |

Amber is our Front Office Coordinator/Billing Specialist. She works with our patients to schedule appointments, assists the patient with billing issues and works with the insurance carriers if you need assistance with your account. Amber has been in the medical field for the last five years and she will be happy to assist with your concerns or questions. She joined our practice two years ago. |

Mara is our bilingual patient specialist. She handles appointment scheduling and much more. She joined Cardiac Center of Texas in 2004 . |

Computed Tomography Technologist |

Gus is our registered Cardiac Imaging and General CT technologist and he performs all of the cardiac and general CT scans in our office. Gus comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience and his focus is customer/patient care. Gus joined our team in 2006. |
